Three years ago, I met the Stillmans when I photographed Jacob's bar mitzvah. It was a whirlwind - my best friend was their nanny, I got food poisoning the night before the big day, etc etc - but they have since referral almost every client to me and I'm endlessly grateful. WOW. This fivesome is loyal and just terrific and so when it came time for Ruby's big day, they booked right away. There was no place I'd rather be.

I photographed headshots for Miss Ruby when she was embarking on her acting career a few years ago and I've since watched her shine oh-so-bright. It's been amazing to feel so much pride when she's up on the stage and it's an honor to know her off-stage too.

Of course, Ruby would call her bat mitzvah celebration her Encore! I loved all the details Ruby and mom Amy put together - so classic, elegant, colorful and fun. The family portraits at Adath Jeshurn felt like riding a bike since we did Jacob's 3 years ago and again, this group kept me on my toes! Especially little brother Z!

This was one of the first times I was actually in the congregation and attended the luncheon as a guest, sans camera. It was a beautiful experience to see, really see, without boundaries, Ruby in her big moment that she has worked so hard to get to. Amazing!

The party at the Children's Theater Company was the icing on the cake! Lauren from Event Lab created a magical vision of a space filled with colors, fun lighting and a great gobo light for the dancefloor and it was great to see it come to life. Ross from A-List Entertainment kept this group dancing until the very end of the night and we got some excellent shots of kids and adults alike.

Mazel Tov, Mazel Tov to you, Ruby! Thank you for trusting me with this big moment and I loved working with you! You're a star!
