Minneapolis
St. Paul
Temple Israel Minneapolis
My first b’nai mitzvah photographed was at Temple Israel Minneapolis in 2009 — that community holds a special place in my heart.
The sanctuary is beautiful and the modern addition is striking, but your family will shine most.
I use the street-side columns, the atrium garden, and the modern stone facade for portraits.
My favorite part is photographing the Torah service from the balcony!
Beth-El Synagogue
Beth-El is a warm & welcoming synagogue, mixing tradition with the fun personalities of my clients.
The wood tones, the tapestry ark doors and red-orange carpet in the sanctuary can be a challenge to photograph. But with over 15 years experience, I can safely say your family’s joy will not be overshadowed!
Utilizing the sanctuary alongside the outdoor landscaping, architecture and facade is the perfect blend of old and new.
Adath Jeshurn Congregation
Adath Jeshurn’s campus blends natural beauty with timeless stonework and serene landscaping. I love creating outdoor portraits year-round!
Bimah portraits framed by the stone facade and the warm gold ark doors provide an elegant, meaningful backdrop.
The stone entry wall offers a relaxed spot where families can move naturally and feel at ease - let those authentic smiles shine!
Shir Tikvah
Shir Tikvah is a vibrant, colorful and inclusive community and although I have photographed only a handful of families, the ones I have are lasting connections!
Utilizing the adjacent parkway foliage in peak seasons offers another option alongside the natural light-filled sanctuary.
I’m able to capture the Torah service from the side balcony and witnessing the Shir Tikvah Shuffle is unmatched!
Bet Shalom
Bet Shalom is a beautiful congregation and although I haven’t photographed many b’nai mitzvahs there, I would really love to (hint, hint)!
Service photography is not allowed, but portraits and Kiddush luncheon photography are possible on Shabbat.
The ark is such a unique background and the outdoor space is a great addition in nice weather.
Temple of Aaron
Temple of Aaron is a newer synagogue to me, but the families I met make it feel like we’ve known each other forever!
Using a mix of outdoor areas and the bimah/sanctuary space with stained glass windows provides an opportunity for creativity and candid, authentic smiles.
Mount Zion
I have photographed b’nai mitzvahs at Mount Zion since 2013! Working with families from one child to the next is the best part of my job. In 2024, I was asked to take photos for the bulletin and have captured multiple events ever since! Purim and AppleFest are my favorites.
Although service photography is not allowed, portraits and Kiddush luncheon photography are possible on Shabbat. I love utilizing the stairs on the bimah for extended family photos and the garden, front facade and natural light-filled hall are great options for more candid photos.
